TRUST centre

We are delighted that Active Training Team’s family of safety leadership centres has expanded with the opening of TRUST in Huddersfield. Developed for personnel working on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), the centre will train around 2000 people per year. Already this £2.7m facility has created 63 jobs in the local area and will be offered as a resource for the local community.

The TRUST programme uses the same active learning approach we deploy at our other centres, alongside state-of-the-art multi-media which delivers a highly impactful multi-sensory experience. Of course the tech doesn’t mean anything without a talented cast and crew and we are excited to welcome some new faces to ATT alongside some of our actors who are taking up different roles.

Heading up the delivery and operations for ATT at TRUST is Company Stage Manager, Hayden Sugden. An aspiring stage and screen writer and director, Hayden has spent over five years working in theatre. Born and raised in Bradford, Hayden is very much at home in the local area. He graduated with honours degree in drama from the University of Huddersfield in 2019 and was the Office and Events Assistant at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, a local community theatre.

Hayden commented:

‘I am incredibly excited not just to be working with ATT, but to be at the beginning of the TRUST centre’s journey. Inevitably there are challenges, but the feedback we’ve received from the first cohorts of participants has been overwhelmingly positive. I’m lucky to have a great team around me; we all work together to ensure the quality of the production and delivery are the best they can possibly be, so everyone who comes to TRUST has a great experience and leaves believing they are a safety leader.’
