Your Choice

Award-winning, multi-media interactive training session developed for TfL and London Underground.

‘How do I feel?…How would you feel?…You decide….It’s your choice.’

The client wants to bring the project in a year early. Is this feasible? If it isn’t, then why doesn’t anybody say so? And how might this decision affect those working on the frontline?

About the Day

The session examines a number of factors that lead to a near-fatal accident and the cultural issues that allow the contributory hazards to go unchallenged.

Participants experience the build-up to the accident, they are witnesses to the accident itself, and taste for themselves some of its immediate and long-term consequences.

The sessions are currently being rolled out to project teams on TfL’s Surface Transport Division as well as to contractors and staff engaged on the large-scale upgrade works on the Central London Underground station network.

Feedback

TfL wanted to see a step change in safety awareness and decision making. The quality of the films, the design and realism of the live drama, and the facilitation of the sessions is excellent. Feedback has been extremely positive, and we are starting to see a real change in behaviours.

Rob Mair, Senior HSE Manager, Transport for London

Shows how everyone has a part to play in safety. We need to be bold in taking responsibility to avoid an incident. Everyone, whether office or site staff want to get the job done, and done safely, and we need to work together to get that result.

Feedback

Make this training more widely available. This should be the new benchmark.

Great to have interaction with the actors - both in the room and on-screen. Really shows how a rash decision taken at boardroom level can have fatal consequences when cascaded down the supply chain.

Workshop participant

Very interactive and became so very quickly. Learning was rapid as we listened to so many voices.

Workshop participant

Brings home how it only takes a small series of occurrences for something like this to happen.

Workshop participant

This is such as good way of getting the message across and looking around the room everyone was focused and getting involved.

Workshop participant

I think a lot of people will go with the view of 'oh it's another workshop I've got to go to' but after attending they won't be able to stop talking about it.

Workshop participant

I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and walked out of there thinking that I could stop works if I thought any aspect of it was unsafe, regardless of the outcome

Workshop participant

I have attended many different workshops covering similar, if not the same topics. The combination of excellent facilitation, real actors, video and real-time debate proved to be an excellent way of delivering important messages and coaching
