Roll-out Commences! Doors open to ATT and Ørsted’s Purpose Built Safety Leadership Centre on the Humber

Two weeks since Thrive opened its doors, we are now looking forward to an initial roll-out of the programme for Ørsted. In a first for the Humber region, the one-day interactive, multi-media programme is designed to transform behaviours and attitudes to safety.

Having committed £1.4 million funding to create the purpose-built facility in partnership with ATT, renewable energy pioneers Ørsted will be inducting all personnel working on the new Hornsea Two offshore wind farm project, starting from next week. As of 30th September Ørsted UK’s Operations and Maintenance division will also be utilising the centre.

The safety leadership centre was designed as a legacy project for the wind farm, enabling other companies and sectors to put their people through the programme. Thrive will be available in a bespoke capacity for any organisation that aims to empower their whole workforce to be safety leaders.

Thrive includes a hard-hitting multi-media scenario which examines the build-up to a fatal incident on a load-out operation and its consequences. With high-quality production values and industry-leading technology, the programme delivers a powerful immersive experience. Though set in a fictional company and in a wind power environment, the themes and issues raised at Thrive will resonate with any organisation that combines office-based support functions and an operational front-line.

Thrive has generated considerable interest in the local and renewable communities and featured in multiple online publications, including Renews Biz and Offshore Wind, while the build-up video for Thrive has had 1.2k views on Ørsted UK’s twitter feed alone. The full day session is designed to be delivered to a group of 39, but to ensure Covid restrictions on social distancing, it is currently running for a maximum of 18 and attendance figures remain under review.
