Red7Marine Culture Awareness Day

It’s not unusual to find ourselves on an offshore wind farm one day, a construction site the next, and in a conference centre the day after. However, earlier this month we were pleased to be invited down to a village hall in a small picturesque village overlooking the Stour Estuary, in Essex to deliver our safety message.

Wrabness, perhaps now best known as the location of ‘Julie’s House’ by Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry, is actually home to Red7Marine – industry leaders in marine construction.

Nick Offord, the Managing Director of Red7Marine – who had previously attended our EPIC Induction last year – was so impressed, he wanted his entire workforce to experience our way of putting the ‘leadership in safety’ message across.

Active Training Team is recognised for its innovative health and safety training schemes in the industry, and we are all really looking forward to the day.

Red7Marine, inspired by Tideway’s example, decided to run a ‘Culture Awareness Day’ for all of their staff.

Together we decided on delivering Your Choice – our multi-media interactive training session, followed by our Practical Safety Leadership (PSL) skills workshop. PSL provides participants with a practical set of behavioural skills with which to challenge themselves and others through positive engagement.

Alex Vaughan, Head of Health and Safety at Tideway London and Imlach Shearer, Lead Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager Thames Tideway West were also in attendance.

We’d like to thank Red7Marine for inviting us – we had a terrific day and it was exceptionally well received by all. Participants commented:

“Adam and the team were excellent. The video at the start was brilliant”

“Makes everyone realise that they are responsible for safety”

“Very high impact”

“This is the best form of delivery of management leadership that I have seen”
